CowPlay was the first online games site by Hunted Cow Studios. Initially started to cator for more board games than chess the site is now solely dedicated to chess. CowPlay allows players from anywhere in the world to sign up for free and begin playing chess right away.

Moves can either be made on the website by viewing your game and clicking the pieces on the board or subscribers to CowPlay may make their moves from CowPlay LIVE! - A live incarnation of the website which illustrates some of Hunted Cow's more advanced technology that will be put to further use in up and coming games.

Games on CowPlay are primarily correspondence time based with players allowed from 3 to 14 days per move, but new features include blitz and standard time controlled games which allow games to played in as little as 3 minutes on CowPlay LIVE! as well as Incremental/Fischer time control options.

One of CowPlay's key features is its variants. There are currently 13 different chess variants available to play, each running in their own league with indivual ELO ratings per player. There are new additions being added to CowPlay all of the time with the latest additions being CowPlay LIVE! and mini-tournaments.
